People like me can’t find love
OlivetheBoy says his lyric-heavy love songs do not reflect his current romantic life. Speaking on Hitz FM monitored by MyNewsGh, he said, “Most of the love songs I write, they’re not really from present times. They’re from experiences before.”
When asked whether he is currently in love, the musician responded, “I don’t think anybody can find love. You can find someone, but not love. Especially for people like me.”
He added that deeper experiences in his songs come from earlier years. “If they’re like really lovely experiences, it’s not from now. I’m telling you the truth.”
Pressed about his past public relationship, he avoided details. When the hosts mentioned Stephy Osei, he replied, “We will talk about that one. We will talk about breakfast.”
Discussing creativity, he revealed that he writes best when emotionally balanced. “If I’m going through something really bad, I can’t write. I feel like I’m not being serious at that point,” he said.
He also said he prefers not to revise lyrics after recording. “I believe the beauty of the sound is when you get it there and then. Mostly when I get it, that’s the whole spirit of the song.”
The singer added that he is naturally quiet. “I’m a very boring person. I don’t talk a lot. Naturally, I can’t have a full conversation for 20 minutes,” he noted.
