Regina Daniels questions role of police in her feud with Ned Nwoko
Actress Regina Daniels has raised concerns over the arrest of her close friend, Ann, describing the incident as unfair and unjust.
In a statement shared online and sighted by MyNewsGh, Regina said her friend was arrested not because she committed a crime, but due to her association with her.
“Yesterday, my dearest close friend Ann was arrested. Not because she committed a crime but because she is associated with me,” she stated.
Regina questioned what she described as the growing use of law enforcement in personal disputes.
“When did divorce turn into a battlefield where innocent people become collateral damage?” she asked. “When did the Nigerian Police become tools in settling personal, marital disputes for the benefit of the more powerful spouse?”
She expressed disappointment in the police, suggesting they are aware when arrests are driven by intimidation rather than justice.
“They know when an arrest is not rooted in justice but in intimidation. They know when allegations are fabricated, designed only to frustrate, humiliate, and emotionally break a family,” she said.
Regina admitted she struggles to accept what she sees happening, saying the situation is forcing her to question the credibility of law enforcement.
“I do not want to further promote the narrative that our police force lacks credibility or compassion, but this situation is forcing that narrative upon me,” she added.
She also expressed fear for her friend’s safety.
“I fear deeply for Ann’s safety. Nothing about what is being done is legal, ethical, or humane,” she said.
