Rita Dominic reflects on her 23-year career and the exhaustion of fame
Actress Rita Dominic has opened up about the mental and physical exhaustion that comes with being in the spotlight for over two decades in a conversation with TV host Chude Jideonwo, monitored by MyNewsGh.
Having been in the industry for 23 years, Rita shared the toll of constantly promoting her projects and reliving past experiences during media rounds.
When asked if she ever felt tired of the cycle, she responded, “Yes, it is exhausting generally because, first of all, you are going from one place to the other, going from one media house to the other, talking about this film, relieving the experiences, and everything.
“It does take its toll mentally and physically.” However, she acknowledged the nature of the work, noting that she had learned to navigate these challenges after so many years in the industry.
“But hey, I’ve done this for 23 years, so when it’s time to do media rounds for a film that has come out, I know what to do. I’m ready for it.
“Then afterwards, I just crash out,” she added.
Rita Dominic also addressed the viral moment that set the Nigerian internet ablaze—a famous photo of her that made waves online.
Chude Jideonwo, who revealed he has known her for 15 years, took the opportunity to ask her about it, given her rising profile and the impact of the image.
“I had to ask her about that famous photo of her setting someone that broke the Nigerian internet,” Chude said during the interview.
Rita responded with an understanding of the situation, though her thoughts on the photo remain personal.
