Sarkodie marks Ghana’s 69th Independence with Shatta Wale tribute

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie paid tribute to Shatta Wale while celebrating the nation’s 69th Independence Day, highlighting his colleague’s influence in Ghanaian music.

“One of my favourite songs from you is ‘Kakai,’” Sarkodie said in a video sighted by MyNewsGh.

“When you step out of Ghana, it’s the song people play to represent Ghana. Even when it came out here, I felt like you made it so powerful that every radio station played it.”

He continued, “As we celebrate Ghana’s Independence today, it’s only right that I play this song for my audience.
