Shatta Wale granted bail by EOCO, GHC10 million set as condition
Dancehall king Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., has been granted bail by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) under strict conditions, his media manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, also known as Sammy Flex, has confirmed.
In a video update, Flex explained that EOCO set bail at GHC10 million with two sureties.
“The dancehall king’s management and legal team are working tirelessly to meet the requirements for his release by Thursday, August 21, 2025,” he said.
Flex clarified that the investigation focuses on Shatta Wale’s tax compliance regarding his yellow Lamborghini and his business activities, dismissing circulating rumours suggesting otherwise.
Shatta Wale voluntarily presented himself at EOCO on Wednesday, August 20, along with his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to assist with the ongoing probe. “Mr. Mensah is fully cooperating with the authorities,” Flex added.
The management team urged fans and well-wishers to remain calm, avoid speculation, and have confidence in the judicial process.
They confirmed that further discussions with EOCO will continue the following day to ensure all bail conditions are satisfied.
This development comes after the artiste was taken into custody over a tax inquiry linked to his Lamborghini, part of EOCO’s wider effort to enforce compliance and accountability among public figures.
