Singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda is dead

Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda has died at the age of 35, days after being placed on life support following a motorcycle accident in Himachal Pradesh.

According to hospital authorities, Jawanda passed away on Tuesday morning after suffering multiple organ failure.

The singer had been receiving treatment for severe head and spinal injuries sustained in the accident, which occurred near Baddi in Himachal Pradesh about 11 days earlier.

The artist, known for hits like “Gabru Punjab Da” and “Chandigarh Return,” was reportedly riding his motorcycle when it collided with another vehicle.

He was rushed to a local hospital before being transferred to a medical facility in Mohali, where he remained in critical condition until his passing.

Jawanda’s family, friends, and colleagues from the Punjabi film and music industries gathered to pay their respects.

His funeral is scheduled to take place on Thursday in his hometown of Jandiali, Ludhiana district.

Born on August 26, 1989, Rajvir Jawanda was a popular figure in the Punjabi entertainment scene.

He began his career as a folk singer and later transitioned into acting, featuring in films such as “Subedar Joginder Singh” and “Jind Jaan.” His deep-rooted connection to Punjabi culture and his unique voice earned him a loyal following both in India and abroad.

Fans and industry peers have taken to social media to express grief and share memories of the late artist, describing him as “a humble soul with a powerful voice.”

Rajvir Jawanda is survived by his wife and parents.
