Vida Essel-LampteyMusical duo Keche are begging Ghanaians to stop spreading the rumour that they sacrificed fathers in exchange for fame. According to them, this speculative talk is hurting their families, who are still reeling from the loss.
Speaking with ZionFelix, Keche Andrew said they do not know why both fathers died the same week. He detailed that his father died on a Monday. And the following Sunday, Keche Joshua’s father also passed on. They said their attention has been drawn to news circulating online that they killed their fathers for fame. According to them, these allegations are absurd and untruthful as they have always worked hard.
Keche Joshua said, “Even if we used our fathers for ‘sika duro’, it is not easy. Please, there is nothing like that. My stepmother called me crying because they were discussing it on a radio station in Cape Coast. And when you listen to what they are saying, they insisted that it is true. And that is why we have become big because we used our fathers for ‘sika duro’. Please stop saying that. It is disturbing for our families.”
They maintain that they are not bothered by the insults because being in the limelight has toughened their skin. But they worry about the stress and humiliation their families are going through because of the lies.
