The spirit of God told him I was his wife

Nigerian socialite Kelly Kosi has shared her soul on the Honest Brunch podcast, hosted by Nedu, Deity Cole, and Ezinne.
Her story, filled with startling revelations, captivated both the hosts and listeners as she recounted her journey from a pastor’s wife to the independent life she now leads.
Kelly opened up about her marriage, which began under controversial circumstances. She revealed that she got married the day after her 17th birthday.
By 18, she had her first child, and by 19, her second. At just 20 years old, she and her husband were separated. Reflecting on the early days, she explained how the relationship began when her foster mother gave her number to a pastor.
“I didn’t even know why she did that,” Kelly said, describing how the pastor initiated contact and claimed to have felt goosebumps after lightly touching her one day. According to him, this was a sign from the Spirit of God that she was his wife.
The relationship quickly escalated, with Kelly moving out of her foster mother’s home to live with him. Within four to five months, they were married.
“I wasn’t pregnant or anything,” she clarified, but the marriage marked the start of a life filled with unexpected challenges.
Her ex-husband, who was 31 at the time, insisted on isolating her from her foster mother. “He made me stop talking to her,” she recalled, expressing regret over the estrangement.
By the time the marriage ended, Kelly was still grappling with the complexities of the legal process.
“I didn’t even know how divorce worked,” she admitted, adding that she was unaware of the court’s decision until her lawyer informed her the marriage had been declared null and void as if it never existed.
Her young age at the time only added to the confusion. “I was just 20 and trying to figure out my life.”
