There will be beer in heaven
Ghanaian traditional musician Atongo Zimba sparked laughter and curiosity when he made a lighthearted comment about the possibility of having beer in heaven.
The “No Beer in Heaven” hitmaker joked that perhaps there could at least be non-alcoholic beer in paradise Speaking on Hitz FM with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio as monitored by MyNewsGh.
“There will be beer in heaven though,” he said, before laughing and quickly adding, “There can be non-alcoholic beer in heaven.”
The conversation took off from his popular song “No Beer in Heaven,” which playfully explores indulgence, morality, and culture.
When asked if he had brought any beer to the studio, Atongo quipped that it was too early in the day but that “we can chill in the afternoon.”
He also revealed that his upcoming song draws from his experience traveling between Africa and Europe, saying, “It’s better to drink tea in Africa and drink beer in Europe.”
The veteran musician, known for blending humor with deep cultural messages, used the moment to remind listeners of life’s simplicity.
His witty personality shone through as fans reacted on social media, calling the interview “vintage Atongo”, wise, funny, and unapologetically African.
