They didn’t know I’m petty
Nollywood star Ruth Kadiri has opened up about a deeply personal moment, revealing how what should have been a joyful announcement turned into a source of ridicule.
The actress, known for keeping her private life away from the limelight, shared that after posting her engagement in 2017, she was met with unexpected mockery over the size of her ring.
Speaking on With Chude, a talk show hosted by Chude Jideonwo, Kadiri recounted how online trolls picked apart her post, ridiculing the symbol of her commitment.
“I remember when I got engaged. I don’t know who sent me, I went and posted it. These people started laughing at the size of my ring,” she recalled.
But Kadiri, who describes herself as “petty,” didn’t let the insults slide. She admitted to personally checking the profiles of those who mocked her, ready to respond with biting comebacks.
“They don’t know I’m petty,” she added with a smile, revealing the emotional toll behind the scenes and her resolve to handle criticism her own way.
