Volta Region has Ghana’s cleanest water bodies and closest tourist attractions to Accra – Edem

Ghanaian rapper Ayigbe Edem says the Volta Region boasts some of the cleanest water bodies in the country and remains one of the most attractive tourist destinations located close to Accra.

Speaking on Angel FM in Kumasi, the musician noted that the Volta Region is one of the nearest tourist destinations to the capital for people travelling from the southern part of Ghana.

“It is the closest tourist destination to Accra across the country from the south,” he said.

Edem also explained that despite the region’s natural beauty and attractions, many people have not fully experienced its hospitality due to long-standing stereotypes created through comedy, movies, and certain public perceptions.

“One of the things we are missing from the Volta Region is that over the years, through comedies, movies and perceptions, people have not experienced how warm the Volta people are. They are warm and friendly,” he stated.

According to him, the region’s environment is also known for its exceptionally clean natural resources, particularly its water bodies and beaches.

“Our water bodies are super clean as well as our beaches. Over the years we have won the cleanest city,” he added.

He further highlighted the region’s natural landscape, pointing to its serene mountainous areas and well-developed road networks, which make travel within the area more convenient for visitors.
