We have a group where we pray against side chicks
Toyosi Etim Effiong has defended her decision to create a prayer group for wives of entertainers, saying it was rooted in concern rather than insecurity.
Confirming the existence of the group on the Toke Moments podcast monitored by MyNewsGh, she said, “Yes, I did. We would pray for our husbands in entertainment.”
According to her, the initiative acknowledged the realities of temptation in the industry.
“I believe people can be lured. Both men and women can be lured,” she said.
Toyosi explained that the group focused on spiritual support rather than fear. “We must pray for them,” she stated, adding that the aim was to protect families from unnecessary strain.
Although the prayer group is no longer active, Toyosi suggested it could return. “It’s not on anymore, but I think I want to rekindle it,” she said.
She also dismissed criticism that followed the group’s existence, pointing out that outsiders often misjudge marriages they are not part of.
“You’re on the outside,” she said, stressing that longevity in marriage does not mean a lack of challenges.
Her remarks have reignited debate around faith, accountability, and coping mechanisms used by couples navigating high-visibility careers.
