We heard bang noises around midnight
Actress Bimbo Thomas has given a detailed account of the tense moments she and fellow cast members experienced when armed men allegedly stormed a hotel housing members of the Omo Ghetto Part Two production.
She explained that she had moved between hotels that night to spend time with a colleague.
“It was around 12 midnight, almost 1 a.m. We heard bang noises,” she recalled in an interview with Chude Jideonwo monitored by MyNewsGh.
According to her, fear quickly took over the room. “We didn’t say anything. We started praying. We were agitated. We didn’t know what to do,” she said.
Thomas said they attempted to hide one of the actresses. “We tried to put her under the bed, but the bed couldn’t fit. So we moved to the bathroom,” she explained. “I covered her with my gown and we stayed there praying.”
She described the emotional strain of the moment. “At that time in the bathroom, I wasn’t myself. I wasn’t thinking of repercussions,” she said, admitting she briefly felt the urge to confront the intruders before restraining herself.
Eventually, the armed men forced their way in. “They told her to pull her clothes and said, ‘Take us to your car,’” Thomas recounted, noting that she and others were left shaking and unsure of what to do next.
