When grace finds you online — Wendy Shay’s ‘Too Late’ song goes international after cute dance video
Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has openly expressed how a simple, innocent dance video from a little girl has completely changed the narrative around her latest song, “Too Late.”
Speaking in an interview with Hitz FM on April 11, 2025, Wendy Shay could not hide her joy and gratitude, describing the viral moment as a blessing she never saw coming.
“She has really been a blessing. That video changed everything,” Wendy said, reflecting on the power of social media and how one video can flip the script for any artist.
Despite some negative comments from online critics, the Uber Driver hitmaker was quick to acknowledge the positive impact the video has had on her career.
“People can say whatever they want, but the fact is that video helped me. The song is now playing in over 50 countries,” she revealed.
Wendy Shay explained how she only realised the little girl was dancing to her song Too Late — a track she dropped three months ago — after watching the video several times.
“I realised that the song she was dancing to is Too Late which I released three months ago. And the video caught my attention and has shed light and brought so much attention to my song,” she shared.
For Wendy, the results speak volumes. “Right now it is chatting over 50 countries which is mind-blowing. I was overwhelmed. I am so grateful to God and the little girl. She is a blessing to me,” she added.
Clearly, while many were busy debating the girl’s dance moves, Wendy Shay was busy counting her blessings — proof that sometimes, all it takes is one moment to change everything.
