Without DJs and radio presenters, it’ll be difficult for a Highlife song to become a hit
‘Rakia’ hitmaker, Theophilus Kofi Nti popularly called Kofi Nti has said that without radio presenters and DJs it will be difficult for a Highlife song to become a hit in the Ghana music scene.
According to the ‘Akonta’ crooner, the lyrics of Highlife songs can better be explained by radio presenters and DJs who make listeners fall in love with the song thereby becoming a hit.
“Nowadays we have the digital platforms that most of the guys have turned their attention to it but with Highlife for it to get the hit, you need radio presenters to play and explain the lyrics for people to really love the song,” he opined.
“Because Highlife needs a lot of explanation for people to get the understanding but with the digital platforms it’s meant for everyone to get access to the song,” he said on Cape Coast’s Kastle FM.
He told Amansan Krakye, “With the DJs and radio presenters most of the work depends on you because you make the Highlife blow and I will say that for Highlife to be accepted most of it should be played on radio.
“I said a lot of things in my songs but not everyone can relate to the lyrics and understand but the presenter on radio is the one who explains it better for people to really fall in love with the Highlife song,” he justified.
