Won what exactly? – Nigerian lady reacts to Regina Daniels’ marriage drama
As conversations about Regina Daniels’ marriage continue to swirl, a Nigerian woman, Yetunde Omobolanle, has shared her unfiltered take on the actress’s situation, describing it as “laughable, borderline clownish.”
Yetunde, who seems unimpressed by the choices that led to Regina’s current predicament, believes the actress had no reason to be entangled in this mess in the first place. According to her, many Nigerian women fail to think long-term when making life-changing decisions, often prioritizing short-term victories over lasting peace and fulfillment.
“When Regina married Ned, people kept screaming ‘She won!’ and I just kept asking, won what exactly? Look at how just a few years down the line, she’s already in the middle of this whole embarrassment,” she remarked.
Regina Daniels, who tied the knot with billionaire businessman Ned Nwoko at a young age, was widely praised for securing “generational wealth” and “setting her kids up for life.”
However, Yetunde questions whether financial security is truly worth sacrificing “peace, dignity, and happiness.” She argues that Regina, a thriving actress with enormous potential, could have built her own success without the complications of marrying an older man with multiple wives.
Drawing comparisons, Yetunde also criticized the mindset behind celebrating material achievements without deeper reflection.
“It’s the same way some women were celebrating that babe for buying herself a Lambo the other day. The comment section was filled with ‘she won, she won!’ And I’m just here wondering, won what exactly? She bought something with her own money.”
For her, this “obsession with winning in the moment” is what leads to regrets in the long run. She insists that many Nigerian women make impulsive decisions to “pepper” others or participate in imaginary competitions, rather than focusing on their long-term well-being.
While expressing zero sympathy for Regina’s predicament, she added, “I hope she figures out her family issue, but this was completely avoidable.
2She was already on her way to doing well for herself and could have built an even better future without marrying that old ‘billionaire’ Father Abraham man. But oh well, to each their own.”
