Yes, I’m an Uber driver in the US—Afia Schwarzenegger finally confirms
Ghanaian socialite and actress Afia Schwarzenegger has responded to claims made by her primary rival, writer and lawyer Chris Vincent Agyapong, who revealed that she is employed as an Uber/Lyft driver in the United States.
The revelation sparked a wave of reactions from fans and the media, prompting Afia to address the situation head-on.
In a recorded video, Afia confirmed that she indeed works as a driver for Uber, stating, “Yes, it’s true. I’m an Uber driver in the United States.”
She expressed surprise at the backlash and the flood of messages from her followers who sought confirmation of the news. “I’ve been getting so many messages, and people are acting like this is some huge revelation. But honestly, I don’t know why it’s such a big deal,” Afia said, clearly unbothered by the attention.
Afia pointed out that she had subtly alluded to this move in her previous social media posts, where she hinted that if her driver’s license allowed her, she would take up an Uber driving job.
“I’ve been saying this for a while now—if my driver’s license qualifies me to drive for Uber, then why not? It’s a legit job,” she explained, downplaying the significance of Agyapong’s revelation.
The actress went on to defend her decision, explaining that many Americans or immigrants might overlook this type of work, but she considers it a smart and lucrative choice.
“It takes intelligence to do this work. A lot of people, especially immigrants, might not want to do it, but for me, it’s a business opportunity. I’m making money, and I’m independent,” she proudly stated.
Afia further criticized those who have been negative about her career choices.
“To those who criticize me and wish for my downfall, I say this: I’m doing just fine. I’m independent, and I’m financially successful. My hustle is real,” she declared, reinforcing her stance on the importance of self-sufficiency and taking pride in any legitimate work that provides financial stability.
