You can’t keep lowering the bar- Organizers of Ghana Movie Awards told

Entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has urged organizers of the Ghana Movie Awards to get serious if they want to award movie stars in the country.
He is of the view that the awards scheme is sought after, and the earlier the organizers realize this and invest time and resources to making it better, they will be rewarded.
Arnold Asamoah believes that the scheme cannot continue to have negative press surrounding it.
Making his point known on Accra-based United Television, Arnold Asamoah could not fathom why Fred
“The main actors and actresses have some love for Fred Nuamah, and so almost every year, the top actors and actresses walk through the awards; an indication that the scheme has goodwill. But Fred Nuamah is not taking advantage of the goodwill.
They know that the awards scheme is problematic, but they always show up, so all Fred needs to do is manage the organization very well and capitalize on the goodwill. It is not every award you get the crème de la crème to attend, but almost every year, regardless of how bad it is, they show up and some of them sit through.
They want the awards. Like I said if you have your music award and Movie Award on that pedestal…There is no award scheme for them, so for one particular event that they would have to dress up, show up on the red carpet, go and sit there, jolly with their friends, and go up and take their awards, that is what they need. Because for the whole year, there is no award that celebrates actors so if you do it well, it will become one of the most popular scheme even than Ghana Music Awards,” he said.
