2021/22 Ghana Premier League matchday 18: Berekum Chelsea beat Gold Stars 1-0
Berekum Chelsea on Sunday afternoon beat newly promoted side Bibiani Gold Stars 1-0 in their Ghana Premier League match week 18 encounter at the Golden City Park.
The former champions required a goal from Owusu Osei in the 39th minute to win at home.
Six crucial players were missing for the Gold Stars: Emmanuel Appau, Frank Adjei Junior, Yakubu Haqq, Richard Amoah, Mamoud Oshie, and Nicholas Osei Bonsu.
Chelsea needed the victory to move up the table after surrendering points in their last encounter to conclude the first round.
Edwin Kuffour started, with striker Kofi Owusu on the bench, although Henry Ansu was not included in the matchday squad.
After today’s clash Berekum Chelsea is in 8th place with 25 points on the Ghana Premier League table while Bibiani Gold Stars is 14th with 20 points.
