2021/22 Ghana Premier League matchday 20: Late Accra Lions goal hands Dreams FC bitter defeat

Accra Lions on Saturday afternoon scored late to dish out a painful defeat to Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League.

The capital-based club today hosted the team from Dawu at the Accra Sports Stadium in a matchday 20 encounter of the 2021/22 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

Despite the impressive efforts of both teams in the first 45 minutes of the encounter, neither side could score and had to settle for a draw at halftime.

In the second half, there was plenty of action as Dreams FC pushed in their quest to get on the scoresheet.

Having squandered a number of opportunities, the visitors were made to pay in the final minutes of the clash.

Youngster Fawzan Alhassan Dandawa equalized with a fantastic effort in added time to propel Accra Lions FC to secure a vital 1-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.

The three points secured today give Accra Lions a major boost as the team pushes to avoid relegation at the end of the ongoing season.
