2021 AFCON: Cameroon’s finest artists lined up for closing ceremony
Some of Cameroon’s finest artists will bring a fantastic TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations 2021 to a rousing close when they perform in the closing ceremony at the Olembé Stadium in Yaoundé, just before the tournament’s blockbuster finale.
Cameroonian artists Salatiel, Daphne and Stanley Enow and James BKS, a music composer and African Hip Hop artist who is the son of legendary music icon Manu Dibango, are all set to rock the high-energy closing ceremony on Sunday 6 February, ahead of the big final between Senegal’s Teranga Lions and the Pharaohs of Egypt.
The live show of the ceremony will start at 18h40 local time (17h40 GMT) and the final will kick off at 20h00 local time (19:00 GMT) at the 60 000-seater stadium.
Supporters who have a valid ticket for the final are urged to arrive early. Gates will open at 14:00 local time (13:00 GMT)
Heading up the list of distinguished people who will attend the closing ceremony are the President of the Republic of Cameroon, His Excellency Mr. Paul Biya, as well as the President of CAF, Dr Patrice Motsepe, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
After a brilliant tournament opening ceremony, COCAN and CAF are looking to end the tournament on a high, with a colourful and vibrant closing ceremony representing a happy, smiling, progressive African continent.
