2022 World Cup: We have to be organized defensively in the preliminary round – South Korea coach Bento
South Korea’s national football squad, led by coach Paulo Bento, is hard at work preparing for the World Cup.
Korea is now considered a ‘weak’ squad. Bento is well aware of the situation. He acknowledged Korea’s weakness and stated that he would prepare for the finals in a way that would benefit them and provide the greatest outcomes.
Coach Bento stated during the media conference for final qualifiers and group selections conducted on the 7th in the auditorium on the 1st floor of the NFC main building in Paju, that it is important to recognize that the scenario in Korea may differ from that of the final qualifiers.
“It’s impossible to come and change the style now,” he said.
“In the World Cup, we have to understand that our situation will be different. The elements that a team must have are also different, of course,” said Bento. You have to admit in advance that you will play the game, and accordingly, you have to spend more time checking your defensive organization than in the preliminary round,” he added.
South Korea will play Uruguay on November 24, Ghana on November 28, and Portugal on December 3, respectively.
