Abalora returns as Coach Barreto names Asante Kotoko lineup for Eleven Wonders clash

New Asante Kotoko Head Coach Mariano Barreto has named his first starting lineup as the club prepares to face Eleven Wonders in a Ghana Premier League fixture this afternoon.

Wonders welcome Kotoko to the Ohene Ameyaw Park at Techiman for this second round fixture.

Barreto who was named gaffer of the Porcupine Warriors not too long ago takes charge of his first official game and to do battle for him, he has selected eleven capable warriors. Despite taking charge of his first game, the Portuguese coach won’t be on the bench due to work permit issues.

Goalkeeper Razak Abalora, fresh from national team assignments makes a return to the lineup after being benched for the last League game against King Faisal. Before then Abalora who holds the most clean sheet record in the league had started 10 straight games.

Abdul Ganiyu who made his Black Stars debut also starts the game at the heart of defense alongside Yusif Mubarik, another black Stars invitee.

One of Kotoko’s 2 Black Stars debutants Ibrahim Imoro also starts at left back while the likes of Mudasiru Salifu, Augustine Okrah and Emmanuel Gyamfi all walk into the starting eleven.

Kotoko are in search of all points to keep their title chase well on track. They are currently 6 points off the top spot with 2 games in hand. A win will close the gap to 3.
