AFCON 2021: Black Stars had a rusty technical team – Joseph Yamin

Former deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Joseph Yamin believes the Black Stars had a rusty technical team, hence the team’s abysmal performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The Black Stars recorded their worse performance at the AFCON and their first exit in the group stage since 2006 after defeat to Comoros on Tuesday.

The four-time African Champions suffered a 3-2 defeat to AFCON debutants on Tuesday at the Roumde Adjia stadium.

In an interview with West FM, Joseph Yamin slammed the Ghana Football Association for appointing rusty Milovan Rajevac to lead the Black Stars.

“The FA sacked CK Akonnor because of poor performance instead of them to appoint the right person, they went for Milovan Rajevac who has been without a job. So, we have to blame the FA for Black Stars poor performance”

“Milovan Rajevac always got his tactics and changes wrong and it shows clearly that he’s rusty” he said.

The Black Stars will arrive in Ghana on Thursday following their shocking exit from the AFCON tournament.
