AFCON 2021: Fatau Dauda believes the Black Stars will qualify from the group stage
Despite a disappointing performance against the Atlas Lions, Fatau Dauda believes Ghana will advance from Group C.
Ghana’s Black Stars were defeated 1-0 in their opening game of the Cameroon 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, casting doubt on the team’s qualification from the group stage.
Morocco’s Boufal scored late in the second half after Ghana failed to clear the ball in the box breaking the hearts of Ghanaian fans.
Fatawu stated on Opemsuo 104.7 FM’s evening sports show, Pramaso, that the loss will force the players to win the next two games.
“I’ve been to four AFCON tournaments, and it is only twice we have been able to win our first matches. Those that we were defeated or drew, we were able to reach at least Semifinals,” he said
“Ghanaians should exercise because all is not lost for Ghana. The defeat will even let the players give their all, since they know a defeat or draw could end their dream in the tournament,”
“We can qualify, though it won’t be easy,” he ended.
