Alexander Djiku reacts to Strasbourg’s defeat to Bordeaux
Defender Alexander Djiku has reacted to Strasbourg’s defeat against Bordeaux in Ligue 1 on Sunday afternoon.
The Ghana international returned to France to join his teammates after the Black Stars elimination from the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking to Prime Video Sports after the 4-3 defeat to Bordeaux the defender who started from the bench said the team wanted to win the game but their bad start shattered their dream of winning.
“We wanted to continue our unbeaten streak. Unfortunately, we started the game very badly, which I think we missed. However, we know our values, we didn’t give up. In the second half, we came back with better intentions,”
“We almost came back to score, but it was played on a goal difference. It’s a shame. […] We missed a little bit everything that made our strength in the last three games, from the start. At the break, Julien Stephan spoke to us. We put things back in the right place and we tried to win this game,”
Djiku has been a key play for Strasbourg this season making 17 appearances in Ligue 1.
