ANTOINE SEMENYO: Latest to striker puts Black Stars debut in doubt

Antoine Semenyo has suffered a fresh injury in what is likely to hamper his chances of getting a first ever Black Stars invite ahead of this month’s FIFA World Cup Qualifying Play-off.

The Bristol City striker picked the injury during their Championship game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The 22 year old English-born attacker was substituted after just 6 minutes only after he had initially recovered in time for the fixture.

FMIG checks reveal there will be further tests conducted on Sunday to determine the exact injury suffered and the extent.

Antoine Semenyo is rumored or be part of a yet to be released Black Stars squad for the all-important world cup qualifier with Nigeria.

The striker who has been involved in 14 goals in 24 games for Nigel Pearson’s side is seen as one of the key additions to help Ghana’s chances.

Any confirmation of an injury situation that will rule him out of this month’s crucial 2-legged affair will serve as a massive blow for both country and player.

Ghana will host Nigeria in the first leg of the playoffs on Friday March 25 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi before traveling to Nigeria to complete the process.
