Asante Kotoko ‘back where we belong’ – David Obeng Nyarko
The Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, David Obeng Nyarko has acknowledged that moving to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table is well deserved, insisting they aim to make this a mainstay until the end of the season.
The Porcupine Warriors returned to the top of the pile after Match Week 23 when they crashed Dreams FC by a 3-1 scoreline last Saturday.
Goals from Michael Vinicius, Ismail Ganiyu (penalty) and Andy Kumi sealed the comeback win for Kotoko as they now sit top on 41 points, one more than Great Olympics and Medeama SC who lie second and third respectively.
With 11 matches to go, David Obeng Nyarko believes the Porcupine Warriors are well on course to winning their first league title since the 2013-14 campaign.
In an interview with Kumasi based Silver FM, Obeng Nyarko said “We are back where we belong, Our purpose is to win the league and we hope that comes to fruition at the end of the season”.
Kotoko will next face Ebusua Dwarfs on Thursday in the league and will hope to extend their lead.
