Asante Kotoko fires Head Coach Maxwell Konadu
Kumasi Asante Kotoko has officially fired their Head Coach Maxwell Konadu with immediate effect.
In a statement on their official Twitter page, Asante Kotoko said “Management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club wishes to inform the general public that it has decided to part ways with Coach Maxwell Konadu as its Head Coach with immediate effect”
Coach Johnson Smith has been appointed to lead the team in the interim.
Maxwell Konadu has overseen a very underwhelming start to the campaign with the club failing to live up to expectations.
Konadu’s side played games against Eleven Wonders, Berekum Chelsea, Legon Cities, and Great Olympics with a record of 1 win 2 draws, and 1 defeat.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko kept only one clean sheet in the above-mentioned games and failed to score more than one goal in each of the games.
The last straw that broke the camel’s back is the defeat to Great Olympics.
This brings to an end Maxwell Konadu’s second stint with the club with his first spell yielding a league title.
