Asante Kotoko suffer blow in pursuit of top transfer target
Asante Kotoko have suffered a big blow with FC Samartex 1996 insisting top transfer target Benjamin Yorke is going nowhere when the second window is activated.
The Porcupine Warriors have been strongly linked with a move for the young attacker with speculations that they were eager to complete a move for him to bolster their attack.
The Kotoko management have been keen to add up to their attacking department to improve their fortunes on the pitch.
FMIG sources reveal that Yorke’s club, FC Samartex view the player highly and won’t entertain ideas of letting him leave anytime soon
Their decision to block any move is to help keep the core of the Division One League side’s team intact to boost their chances of sealing qualification to the Premier League.
The uncompromising stance of Samartex will deal a big blow to the Nana Yaw Amponsah led Kotoko management who retained a solid interest in the player.
Benjamin Yorke is also a subject of interest from Medeama SC, another Premier League club.
The 21 year old emerged Best Payer at the 2019 Western Regional Invitation Tournament. He was also part of Ghana’s Black stars B squad that failed to secure a ticket to the 2020 CHAN Tournament.
