Barcelona keeping tabs on Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu as possible replacement for Pique

Ghana international, Mohammed Salisu has been shortlisted by Spanish giants FC Barcelona as a possible replacement for defender Gerard Pique, footballghana.com has learned.

The young defender over the last 12 months has significantly developed his game at Southampton where he has been playing in the English Premier League.

Although his manager at the St. Mary’s says he still needs to polish his qualities, his talent has never been in doubt with many tipping him to become one of the best in his position in the next few years.

Today, news coming in is that he could one day secure a big move to multiple Uefa Champions League winners FC Barcelona.

This is because as reported by Spanish tabloid Fichajes, Mohammed Salisu is amongst five other defenders being monitored closed by the Spanish giants.

The others include Aymeric Laporte, Sven Botman, Matthijs De Ligt and Cristian ‘Cuti’ Romero.

FC Barcelona are keen on signing at least one of these players to be the longterm replacement for club legend Gerard Pique.
