Barreto preaches attitudinal change at Asante Kotoko
Asante Kotoko Head Coach Mariano Barreto has charged his players to work on a positive attitude towards their work as he tries to bring success to the club.
The Portuguese was installed as the club’s Head Coach just last month and is set to preside over his first game in charge after missing the previous game due to work permit issues.
Asante Kotoko face Bechem United in an outstanding Ghana Premier League fixture on Wednesday at their newly adopted home venue, Len Clay Stadium, Obuasi.
Barreto speaking ahead of the game, shared his impression of the squad after weeks of training and monitoring his boys play the last game against Eleven Wonders.
According to him, the players need a change in attitude and that should clearly show on the pitch.
Barreto disclosed this during a virtual press conference via the club’s CEEK channel.
“Surely we have to make so much difference. Regarding the first impression, it’s like this. I feel that we have very interesting players with good skills but we have to change the attitude,” he said.
“Because even if we are not in good physical condition, our attitude should be different. we have to make more. and when I say make more, we have to show that we are making more.
“This is what our jersey demands, this is what our supporters request and they have a right,” he concluded.
Asante Kotoko’s game versu Bechem takes place on Wednesday, with kick-off set at 3pm GMT.
