Ghanaian football legend Nii Odartey Lamptey has advised players of today to never compromise on being disciplined both on and off the field.

Lamptey who’s now Coaching Ghana Premier League side believes without discipline, players can’t get to expected levels in their careers.

The former Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven playmaker served this counsel in the aftermath of his side’s defeat of Ebusua Dwarfs in a regional derby on Sunday.

The game was defined by a moment where Dwarfs goalkeeper elbowed an opponent which resulted in a penalty with 4 minutes of normal time left to play. The ball was subsequently converted accurately and Sharks held on to ensure a win.

The Dwarfs Goalie Razak Issah has not escaped condemnation from both fans and officials of the club, and unsurprisingly, Odartey Lamptey was asked about it during the post match press conference.

In his response, Odartey delivered a message on discipline, advising almost every player in Ghana’s top flight.

“It all comes to discipline. in football or any job, you should be discipline. you should be able to do what your coach tells you to do. if you’re not discipline, this is some of the things that happen and I think it has cost Dwarfs the points” he said.
