Bechem United smash Kotoko to avoid relegation drop
Bechem United defeated Asante Kotoko to maintain their status in the Ghana Premier.
The Hunters beat the Porcupine Warriors 2-1 in matchday 33 m at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in a thrilling encounter.
Steven Owusu broke the deadlock of the game four minutes after kick off.
Asante Kotoko responded 23 minutes later, Sarfo Taylor capitalized from a goalkeeping howler to restore parity.
Steven Owusu added his second of the day just before the break to give the host a 2-1 lead.
The victory against the Kumasi based club has confirmed their stay in the Ghana Premier League for the upcoming season but has ended Kotoko’s dream of winning the league as well.
The victory takes Bechem United to 42 points, 4 points clear off the relegation zone with a game to go.
They are currently 12th on the League standings following the win yesterday.
Regardless of the results against Ebusua Dwarfs in the last game, Bechem United will be part of the 2021/2022 season.
