Between OGC Nice and AS Monaco, Myron Boadu “did not hesitate”
After Ismail Jakobs and Alexander Nubel, it was the turn of new AS Monaco striker Myron Boadu to be presented to the press on Monday.
Your signing in Monaco has been a long soap opera. Rumors have even sent you to OGC Nice. Did this possibility really exist and what convinced you to choose ASM?
(He smiles). Sure enough, a lot of clubs were interested in signing me, but I have to admit that when I heard of AS Monaco’s interest, I didn’t hesitate. Some transfers can take a while, but my choice was made from the start.
How do you see your debut in Monaco?
I still have to adapt to my new teammates, that’s normal. I’ve only been there two weeks. The coach has enough confidence in me to put me in his starting XI. It’s very satisfying. I want to help the team. We have big goals this season.
What type of player are you? What more can you bring than incumbents Wissam Ben Yedder and Kevin Volland?
I score goals, that’s what I love to do. I am powerful. I am able to keep the ball to help the team. Of course, I still have a lot to improve. Several of your compatriots signed in Nice.
Did you discuss with them the rivalry between your two clubs?
No, not yet but what is certain is that I want to beat them (laughs).
