Black Stars coach C K Akonnor confident of victory against South Africa
Head coach of the Black Stars Charles Akonnor is confident of victory against South Africa in the penultimate AFCON qualifiers game on Thursday.
The senior national team will be looking to seal qualifications to the next year’s showdown by overcoming their South African counterpart at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
Despite missing several key players for the game, the coach is confident of victory on Thursday.
“I am very hopeful, what I have seen in the last few weeks give me joy. The boys have done very well and if we are able to implement it here, we will be able to get a good result.”
Ghana will host Sao Tome and Principe in Accra on March 29.
The Black Stars sit at the top of Group C with nine points after four games and is in search of a ticket to the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
