Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac fired after Afcon early exit – Reports
According to reports in the local media Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac has been fired by the Ghana Football Association after the team’s terrible performance in the ongoing 33rd Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana exited the Africa Cup of Nations with one point after losing 1-0 to Morocco in their first game, drawing 1-1 with the Panthers of Gabon in the second game and losing 3-2 against Comoros Islands in the last Group C game. Captain Andre Ayew was sent off against Comoros Islands.
The ministry of youth and sports issued a statement scheduling an emergency meeting with the leadership of the Ghana Football Association to discuss the team’s poor showing.
The ministry joined Ghanaians to express their displeasure about the team’s results at the tournament.
After the emergency meeting, the Ministry issued another statement urging the Ghana Football Association to dissolve the Black Stars management team and also review the job of the technical team.
