Black Stars drop to second after South Africa loss

The Black Stars have dropped to second place in Group G of the World Cup qualifiers after suffering a 1-0 defeat to South Africa.

CK Akonnor’s side were initially top of the table after Wakaso’s strike secured a 1-0 victory over Ethiopia on Friday but a toothless performance ensured a loss in Johannesburg.

Due to this, the Black Stars are now 2nd on the log with three points and could drop further down the log if Zimbabwe gets a win over Ethiopia.

Ghana failed to qualify for the 2018 edition of the World Cup after making the biggest stage on three consecutive occasions.
