Black Stars returnee Richmond Boakye Yiadom promises to give his best in World Cup qualifiers
Ghana international Richmond Boakye Yiadom has promised to give his best for the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The 28-year-old has returned to the Black Stars after a three-year absence with his last outing in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
He netted brace as Ghana thumped Golden Kicks 5-1 in a warm-up match on Monday.
Speaking to the media, the Beitar Jerusalem forward described his return to national team as a blessing and has therefore promised to give his best for the country.
“It’s a blessing to be back. I always cherish the opportunity to be part of the national team so I’m excited to join the squad and ready to give my best. The feeling of unity is great. Everything in camp is peaceful,”
Ghana must beat Ethiopia and South Africa to qualify for the Africa World Cup playoffs and stand any realistic chance of qualifying to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The four-time African champions must overcome Ethiopia in South Africa and South Africa at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Log leaders Bafana Bafana will take on Zimbabwe at FNB Stadium on 11 November 2021 and three days later travel to Ghana for the match against the Black Stars on 14 November.
