Black Stars team doctor gives update on Edmund Addo’s thigh injury
Team doctor for the Black Stars, Adam Baba has disclosed that scans conducted on Edmund Addo show he won’t be able to feature in any of the two matches against Nigeria in the playoff round of the qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
According to the national team doctor, the thigh injury to the Sheriff Tiraspol midfielder does not look good and he must immediately receive medical care.
He has hence left the camp of the Black Stars and is expected to travel to Moldova.
“Edmund complained of pain in the right thigh so we decided to take a scan to know the real situation.
“Unfortunately the scan results revealed that he has a tear in the right thigh and would need two to three weeks to recover so I informed the Coach about it and the decision was that we should allow him to travel to Moldova for treatment,” Team Doctor Adam Baba told ghanafa.org.
Ghana takes on Nigeria in the first leg of the tie in the final round of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Friday, March 25, 2022.
The game will be staged at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 19:30GMT.
