BREAKING NEWS: Ghana FA appoints Chris Hughton as Technical Advisor to Black Stars technical team

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed the appointment of Chris Hughton as a Technical Advisor to the newly constituted technical team of the national team.

The decision according to an official communique on the website of the GFA was taken by the Executive Council of the GFA after a meeting in Accra on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

“Former Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has been appointed as Technical Advisor to the newly constituted Black Stars Technical team led by Otto Addo.

“Other members of the new Technical team include George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani. The 63- year old will provide Technical advice to the three-man team for next month’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 play-off match against Nigeria,” part of a communique from the GFA has said.

With Otto Addo assuming the position as new Black Stars head coach, his immediate assignment is to put together a team to face Nigeria in the final round of the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

The two-legged showdown is scheduled to be played in March.
