Brentford winger Tariqe Fosu handed Black Stars for Ethiopia and South Africa 2022 World Cup qualifiers

Brentford winger Tariqe Fosu has been Black Stars call-up for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa.

Fosu, who was born in London, was capped by England at under-18 level but switched allegiance to play for the four-time African champions in 2020.

The 25-year-old was handed his first Black Stars call-up in March 2020 for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers which were later postponed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ghana have been placed in Pot 2 ahead of the draw for the tournament on 17th August 2021 with Egypt, Mali, Ivory Coast, Guinea, and Burkina Faso.

Fosu has been a regular member of CK Akonnor’s squad, since making his debut against Mali in an international friendly played in Turkey.
