Brighton's Graham Potter considers Tariq Lamptey's choices

At Selhurst Park, Albion do not have a pressing need to engage Tariq Lamptey.

He may, however, make his Premier League return debut from the bench.

Joel Veltman, who kept Jack Grealish quiet at the Amex last season, maybe an astute choice to restrain Wilf Zaha.

Lamptey appeared in the first half of last Wednesday’s Carabao Cup match against Swansea City.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “We’re delighted with the 45 minutes, and because he’s been out for so long it’s important not to look too far ahead.

“We have a plan, of course, about how to deal with him but it’s about staying as focused as we can, being as present as we can with him, not getting carried away with anything and just seeing can we get him on the pitch for Brighton?

“We’re not desperate for him to play 90 minutes.

“Can he contribute for 60? Can he contribute for 30? We’re at that stage at the moment.

“It’s not like we’re against the clock or anything, it’s about doing the right thing for him.

“And I think if he’s enjoying his football and he’s on the pitch and he’s happy, the sky’s the limit for him.
