CAF CC; Five Ghanaians progress to K/O stages

Five Ghanaian players have progressed to the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals with their respective clubs.
The group stages of the competition concluded last night which have seen eight clubs book their ticket to the next round.
Nigerian giants Enyimba FC beat Orlando Pirates 1-0 with a very late strike to seal qualification to the quarter-finals.
Defender Daniel Darkwah and midfielder Farouk Mohammed played full minutes for the Enyimba while Emmanuel Ampiah didn’t make the match squad.
Even though Pirates lost on the day, they still advanced to the next round of the competition.
Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori didn’t feature for the South African giants due to an injury he is carrying.
Ofori got injured in the first group game against Algerian side ES Setif and has since not recovered.
Striker John Antwi came on from the bench when Pyramids FC beat Tanzanian side Namungo FC 1-0 to seal their qualification to the quarter-finals of the competition.
The quarter-finals draw is scheduled to take place on Friday 30 April 2021 in Cairo.
