CK Akonnor deserved to be sacked – Yaw Boateng Gyan

Former management committee chairman of the Black Stars Yaw Boateng Gyan says he was not surprise with the sacking of Ghana coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor.

The Ghana FA terminated the contract of Charles Kwabla Akonnor together with his two deputies on Monday following Ghana’s uninspiring performances against Ethiopia and South Africa in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The Ghana FA at its Executive Council meeting on Monday after the review and performance of the Black Stars in their last two games have changed direction to appoint a new coach.

A three-member committee led by Ghana FA Vice Chairman Mark Addo has been tasked to appoint a new coach in the next 72 hours.

Speaking to Onua FM, the President of Division One League side, Bofoakwa Tano said he was not surprised with Akonnor’s sacking because he had campaigned for in recent times.

“I was not surprised when the news broke that CK Akonnor has been sacked as the Black Stars head coach. I have been campaigning for CK to be sacked because I didn’t I didn’t understand why” he said.
