Current Black Stars team can achieve the impossible for Ghana – Asamoah Gyan
Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyan has indicated that he is confident the current Black Stars team can win trophies for the nation.
The senior national team of Ghana has failed to win the Africa Cup of Nations trophy for the past 40 years.
Amid the thirst for the AFCON title, there is more pressure on the Black Stars to go to the 2022 World Cup and push to achieve success.
Speaking to Citi Tv in an interview, Asamoah Gyan says he has been impressed by the hunger shown by the new players in the national team.
“It’s a generational thing. We’re moving into another generation. New guys are coming up, younger, hungrier, and they are trying to make Ghanaians proud. We’re building a team. All the boys coming up are very young,” the great striker said.
Asamoah Gyan added, “You might not know. I think we have quality players. Nothing is impossible if the boys are handled well.”
Ghana next month will begin the campaign in the group stage of the qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON.
The first match of the group will be against Madagascar on May 30, 2022.
