Danny Jordaan insists SAFA can fight their battles without CAF President’s help

President of the South Africa Football Association (SAFA), Danny Jordaan says the association will not involve CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe in dealing their protest against Ghana.

SAFA lodged a complaint on Monday against match officials for what they describe as “robbery” and “unfair” officiating.

According to SAFA, they have gathered enough information to back their suspicion of a fixed game.

Senegalese referee Ndiaye Maguette is at the center of all the controversy after awarding the Black Stars a penalty, which led to the game’s only goal.

At a press conference, Danny Jordaan said they would not be using their relationship with current CAF president Patrice Motsepe to help them deal with the matter.

“If the president was not from South Africa and was from another country, there would have never been a call to ask if we can’t go to the CAF president. We are not going to go to the CAF president, he must not get involved. We are a member of CAF; we are a member of FIFA and we can fight our battles.” He said.
