David Atanga: “I have to help ensure depth and speed at the front”
It will take a while to see one of KVO’s most recent summer transfers really explode, but against Seraing and Standard David Atanga already showed snatches of his ability.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian was taken because he has the same profile as Fashion Junior Sakala, last season’s trendsetter.
“I’ve seen Fashion videos, yes. But we don’t really resemble each other,” grins the brisk attacker.
David Atanga joined the Belgian top-flight side KV Oostende this summer from German club Holstein Kiel.
Atanga started pre-season training with Holstein Kiel after returning from a loan spell with Wacker. He made 15 appearances and scored two goals with three assists.
It was his second loan as the previous season, he featured for the Austrian side.
Atanga trained in the Red Bull group, where he started in the local youth academy in his home country of Ghana, before joining the Austrian FC Liefering.
He graduated from Liefering’s feeder club RB Salzburg in 2017 and parted ways with them in 2019.
