Wurzburger Kickers, a third-division soccer team, has been fined 3,000 euros for a racial shout from a supporter. That was decided by the German Football Association’s sports court (DFB).

On February 12, just after the last whistle of the first half of the game against MSV Duisburg, a fan shouted abuse at MSV professional and long-time German U-national player John Yeboah.

“Insults of this kind are inhuman and will not be tolerated by the DFB in any way,”

“To mitigate the punishment, however, the control committee and sports court took into account in favor of the Wurzburger Kickers, among other things, that it was a question of an individual’s reputation that was difficult to prevent and that the club clearly distanced itself from such behavior and apologized for it,” said the DFB.
