Promotion Chasing Real Tamale United have ascended the summit of the Division One League table in Zone 1 after a latest ruling by the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee.

Real Tamale United protested against Techiman City in relation to a Match Day 16 encounter which the latter failed to honor.

Techiman City pulled a no show on the match day after the game was moved away from their original home venue (in Techiman) to Wa.

In their protest, RTU claimed Techiman City failed to appear for the Pre-Match Technical meeting and also failed to appear for the match scheduled to be played between the two clubs forcing the referee to end the match after waiting for 30 minutes after kick-off time.

RTU consequently urged the Disciplinary Committee to declare them as the winner of the match and to award the match points and three goals in their favour in accordance with Article 33(3) of the GFA Division One League Regulations.

After hearing the case of the respondent (Techiman City), the Disciplinary Committee took the following decisions against them.

As a result, RTU increase their point Tally this season to 40 points and climb top of the Division One League table in Zone 1. They now lead second placed Steadfast FC by 2 points after 19 matches in the season.
